Gestalt approach

As a Gestalt Therapist I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of any healing process. My aim, therefore, is to give you a relational and collaborative experience of our work together that will support you to discover the solutions within yourself, and help you find the capacity to change your situation for the better.


Building a trusting, open, caring relationship is the bedrock of the way I practice Gestalt therapy. We exist in a field of relationships and are relational, or perhaps inter-relational, beings, and it is from our warm, therapeutic relationship that real change and growth can occur.

“Here and now”

Working in the present allows us to see which part of your past is nourishing and which is interrupting your good functioning and therefore needs support.


My approach is to use your inherent creativity if and when you are comfortable doing so. This can be very helpful in getting past some of every day conscious barriers which keep us stuck. This can involve art, poetry, music or whatever particular interest you may have.

Body oriented work

Paying attention to body processes may be challenging and evoke strong feelings of shame. At the same time, I believe that raising your awareness, in a sensitive way, of what is happening inside allows you to gain a better understanding of how underlying conditions such as stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, are manifesting and impacting on your well-being.


Experimentation is a creative aspect of Gestalt therapy, which allows us to develop a new experience for you, and see what happens, how that happens and track how differences occur for you in the here-and-now, so that you can develop new, healthier ways of being.
